Hodder Press to Release ‘The Buried City: What Pompeii Tells Us’ by Gabriel Zuchtriegel
Hodder Press has secured the English rights to “The Buried City: What Pompeii Says About Us” by Gabriel Zuchtriegel, originally published in Germany. This new edition, translated by Jamie Bulloch, includes an afterword detailing recent discoveries at Pompeii. Zuchtriegel, who has directed Pompeii’s extensive archaeological efforts since 2021, offers an intimate look into the ongoing excavations and the insights they provide about the ancient city and its final moments. The book explores the connection between past civilizations and our current role in preserving history. It is scheduled for publication in May 2025.
